On 7th April we held a special service to open the new front of the church building, and to rededicate ourselves. We were delighted to be joined by some of the builders, designers and other crafts-people who had made the new front possible. Outside on the patio Andrew reminded us that our building is a gift from God, a tool which God has placed into our hands to enable us to tell his story and serve the generations more effectively.
Then the children of the church cut the ribbon to declare the church open.
When we moved inside the building we rededicated ourselves using a prayer based on 1 Kings chapter 8:
Praise be to the Lord –
he is faithful in everything he does.
May the Lord be with us;
may he never leave us or forsake us.
May he turn our hearts to him,
that we may walk in obedience to him and keep the commands he has given us.
May the Lord bless the witness and ministry of this church so that all may know that the Lord is God and that there is no other.
And may our hearts be fully committed to the Lord our God, to live by his decrees and obey his commands.
Amen and Amen.
And finally, back in the main room, Andrew told the story of the lost sheep and the rejoicing when the lost sheep was found. The recording contains this final section of our service.
