How does the Holy Spirit help us worship?
On 13th October Andrew continued our series on living in the presence and the power of the Holy Spirit. During the sermon he refers to this painting, “Starry Night” by Vincent van Gogh.
WellFound
On Harvest Sunday we heard an update from WellFound about their work in West Africa. WellFound is a Christian water and sanitation charity founded by a church member and supported by this church for many years.
Be strong and put your trust in me
On 29th September, Chris Justice shared his testimony of his experiences over the last few months as he underwent radiotherapy, and how God had said to him, “Be strong and put your trust in me”.
Jesus alongside us
On Sunday 22nd September Andrew returned to our series on the Holy Spirit. He spoke from John chapter 14 about how Jesus promised to send us an advocate and comforter, the Holy Spirit. He spoke in particular on the phrase in verse 17 in which Jesus says to his disciples “… you know him (the Holy Spirit), because he lives with you now…” Andrew used…
Together in Seer Green
On 15th September the two churches in Seer Green, SGBC and Holy Trinity, met together to celebrate the partnership between the two churches.
Less is more
On 8th September our morning service was led by Steve and Sue’s housegroup. This was a lovely time of sharing and discussion around the theme “less is more” so almost the whole service is included in the recording.
Living in the presence and power of the Holy Spirit
On Sunday 1st September we started to draw together the teaching we have had on the Holy Spirit over the last few months. We spent the morning sharing testimonies of the work of the Holy Spirit, interspersed with Andrew answering questions about the Holy Spirit.
Heart check-up
On 25th August Gill and Clive led another of our informal Sunday services for August. Gill spoke on getting our hearts checked: are our hearts in the right place for God. During the talk she played a video of a flashmob which you can see here:
An undivided heart
On Sunday 18th August our service was led by Barry and Janice’s housegroup based around the request of David in Psalm 86 to “give me an undivided heart”. Tim spoke about the experience of the Holy Spirit.
The Big Picture
On Sunday 11th August our service was led by the Seer Mead housegroup who have just finished studying The Bible Course from the Bible Society. Paul Bosson used the famous passage in 2 Timothy 3, v12-17 to explain how the whole Bible helps us see the big picture.
