Sermons from June 2017
Create in me a clean heart, O God
On 25th June, at the end of this series, it was lovely to welcome back Chris Justice from Hope Church in Beaconsfield who spoke from Psalm 51: “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.”
Get serious
On 18th June, we were delighted to welcome back Jon Bishop who is currently Children and Youth Minister at Croxley Green Baptist Church. Jon grew up in our church, became a Christian, and for a while ran our youth group. He spoke from Hebrews 11 and 12 about how we need to encourage each other, get serious about our faith, and not give up.
Are we ready?
On 11th June, having followed the account from Passover via Ascension to Pentecost, we paused to consider what we had covered and to consolidate. Gill Roberts led us to consider a series of questions around the theme of “are we ready and prepared for God to change us?”
Pentecost
On 4th June, the day of Pentecost, Andrew spoke about the first Pentecost: about how the Holy Spirit filled the early church to empower it to expand and grow, and about how the Holy Spirit still works in the same way in our lives and our church today.
